Explanation- On January 22, 1760, the British army under Eyre Coote defeated the French governor, Count de Lally in the Battle of Wandiwash. Thus, it ended the French power in India. In 1763, the Treaty of Paris was signed between the British Company and the French Company. According to this treaty, the factories would be returned to the French, but they could not fortify them and could only use them as trading centres.
